About TriciA


​Tricia McCormick has a Masters Degree  in Education and a Masters Degree in Counseling, each from UAB. She  is an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed through the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling. Tricia began practice as a counselor in 2003 as a Forensic interviewer and a counselor at Prescott House in Birmingham, Alabama. 


May of 2006 Tricia began private practice and opened Resolve Counseling Center in 2011. 


Tricia has been married for 30+ years to her college sweetheart. Their sons are adults with families. Tricia continues her education through seminars and workshops each year. 


Tricia's first career was in the educational field. She then realized her passion was helping others to find their best selves and relationships.

Payments are made at the time of service by check, cash, or credit card.  For your convenience a copy of the credit card is made and kept so your session can be charged without taking up your appointment time..

You may also e-mail Tricia at tricia@resolvecounselingcenter.com and leave your name, the best way to contact you, and days and times for an appointment that work best for you. If she does not respond in 24 hours or less, please also leave a voice message.

Call 205-313-1793 to speak to Tricia and set your first appointment. If she is unable to answer, please leave a clear message, including a phone number that has voice mail available. Your call will be returned as soon as possible, usually in less than 24 hours. This phone does not receive text.

HOW IS INSURANCE ACCESSED?

Tricia is a provider for several insurance companies. On the back of your insurance card there will be a number for "Member Services." You will need to call that number and ask if Tricia McCormick is one of your providers.  If they say yes, be sure to confirm how much your copayment will be and how many sessions your plan will allow. Check to see if you have to meet a deductible amount before your insurance company will cover your sessions. If you have not met the deductible your payment will be the private rate but we will file with insurance, at your request, to help you meet your deductible.

  • WILL I SEE OTHERS IN THE WAITING AREA? Seldom will you see anyone else in the waiting area other than staff or others who work in the office suite.
  • DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING FOR THE FIRST APPOINTMENT?
    ​There will be forms to complete either in the office (so be 20 minutes early) or you can download them from this site and bring them completed with you to the first appointment.
